CANDIDATE FOR VP External

Hello Ooks, my name is Robin Murillo and I am running for VP External.

I’m currently taking Business Administration with a focus on Human Resources. As I began my journey at NAIT, two things were ingrained in me, connect and getting involved. These words greatly resonated to me. I was able to exemplify these by volunteering especially during orientation week. I was able to help my fellow students in navigating the school campus. As a build my connections in school I try to be an encouraging voice as well. I encourage my fellow students to seek the proper resources that NAIT has provided us and make the most out of it.

Recently with the support of my fellow students, I was given an opportunity to be part of the NAITSA Senate.  Part of my role is to make sure that the concerns of students are being prioritized and I make sure that the current executive council is being made accountable for their actions. Being an elected Senator, I also had a first-hand look on how the executive council works and how they help address students concerns too.

My heart has always been passionate about achieving students’ welfare and with this role, I believe this will be an excellent platform for me to continue this passion of mine.

If I get the get the chance to be your elected VP External I plan to advocate and prioritize for:

• Continue to build a good relationship to our external stakeholders in order to seek the best support when needed.
• Affordable and transparent tuition.
• Be a voice for both domestic and international students in the municipal, provincial and federal affairs.
• Ensure the safety of our students in our campus and NAIT LRT station
• Make sure a proper transition is made and continue the build on the good things that were accomplish.
