As the current Vice President External of the NAIT Students’ Association (NAITSA), I am excited to announce my candidacy for the position of President. Having been elected twice to serve in a leadership capacity, I bring a wealth of experience and dedication to the table. With your support, I aim to continue advocating tirelessly for the student body, ensuring that their voices are not only heard but also acted upon.

One of the key reasons why I am the ideal candidate for the role of NAITSA President is my proven track record in advocacy. Throughout my tenure as VP External, I have consistently worked to represent the interests of NAIT students to government officials and stakeholders. This experience has equipped me with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the complexities of advocacy, making for a seamless transition into the presidential role.

Moreover, my personal background and experiences uniquely position me to understand and address the diverse needs of our student community. As a woman, a NAIT alumna, and someone who comes from a large family in the trades, I bring a perspective that reflects the richness and diversity of our student body. Additionally, as someone who lives with ADHD and a learning disability, I am intimately familiar with the challenges that many students face and am committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all.

Throughout my time in office, I have prioritized key issues that directly impact the lives of NAIT students. This year, my advocacy efforts have focused on improving transit safety, addressing student housing challenges, and advocating for legislative regulations to protect students from fee increases. These are not just talking points for me; they are issues that I am deeply passionate about and will continue to champion as your President.

Furthermore, I have been a trailblazer in amplifying the voices of students at satellite campuses and ensuring that their concerns are heard by NAIT management. As President, I will continue to advocate for the needs of all students, regardless of their location or background.

I have a deep understanding that the role of NAITSA President is not one of glamour or notoriety; rather, it is a behind-the-scenes administrative position that requires dedication, diligence, and a genuine commitment to serving the student body. With your vote, I promise to uphold these values and work tirelessly on behalf of every student at NAIT.
