Naitsa Election Complaint Submission

The NAIT Students’ Association believes in transparency and fairness for all, so we’ve taken measures to protect the integrity of the election process and voters’ right to privacy during online voting.

To report a suspected candidate violation, please use the NAITSA Election Complaint Submission Form. Your concerns will be reviewed in accordance with NAITSA Bylaws.

7.17. VOTER PRIVACY & ELECTION INTERFERENCE

7.17.1. All members of NAITSA have the right to cast their votes in NAITSA elections privately, free from influence, coercion, or interference. No candidate, campaign team member, or affiliate shall:

  • Observe a voter while they are in the process of casting their electronic ballot.
  • Assist a voter in opening, navigating, or completing their electronic ballot.
  • Solicit or pressure a voter to cast their ballot in their presence or in a specific manner.
  • Vote on behalf of any other member for any reason.

7.17.2. Any member who suspects a violation of this section may report it to the Chief Returning Officer (CRO) for investigation. The CRO shall have the authority to investigate reported violations, including reviewing digital logs and interviewing relevant parties.

7.17.3. If a violation of 7.17 is substantiated, the CRO may impose penalties as defined in 7.11.4.

7.17.4. The CRO shall ensure all candidates and campaign teams receive training on this bylaw prior to the commencement of campaigning.

7.17.5. Election promotional materials shall include a clear notice to voters regarding their right to privacy and how to report suspected violations.
