Nadin Said

I am Nadin Said, your NAITSA VP External Nominee for this year!

For the past year, I have been working at NAITSA as a Service Hub Assistant— listening to the concerns of students and helping them find solutions for the problems that we face together. This has created the foundation for my advocacy plan. I want your voices to be heard and I have been putting together a list of the things we care about most, such as the U-Pass, Grammarly, LinkedIn Learning, and academic fees. My passions lie in creating a brighter future for our community and I want to make great strides in this field.

Currently, I am a Business Analyst student in the DMIT program and the VP of Operations for the DMIT Club. As VP of Operations, I take care of the logistics of planning events and coordinating team efforts. Currently, we are supporting the organization of the IT Connections career fair which will connect students to global leaders in the industry. Outside of NAIT, I have been running my own business as a Sole Proprietor in Marketing and Business Solutions. I stand on business in negotiating, public speaking, and time management, all of which propel me toward success in this role.

If I am elected, I will be advocating for the following:

· Transparency in annual academic fee increases

· Improving existing student services and introducing new initiatives

· Strengthening community connections with industry leaders

I also recognize the need for practical improvements to enhance our daily campus life. A key initiative I advocate for is increasing the number of microwaves on campus. It’s not just about convenience; it’s about catering to our diverse schedules and nutritional needs. More microwaves symbolize my commitment to addressing every aspect of student well-being, no matter how small it may seem.

I want to bring empathy to the heart of our student body, creating a space where each of us feels understood, supported, and valued; where our collective journey is one. This is about making our school a better place; one that prepares us for the future and shapes the leaders of tomorrow.

This isn’t just about me, it is about creating a better environment for all to grow and develop into our careers. Our school is our community, and I am devoted to making it a place where each of us can thrive. Vote for Nadin for VP External!
